Pilbara Camel Trekking is the result of a long journey towards a goal of allowing visitors to experience the beauty of the Pilbara region, the rush of trekking on camelback and the fascinating local indigenous culture of northern Western Australia. Our tours of the Karrijini National Park and beyond are a culmination of thirty years of our lives, our experiences and our dreams.
Paul is an avid adventurer and can’t wait to share with you the thrill of traversing a stunning natural landscape and experiencing close up the local area and culture. He has travelled all over the world in pursuit of the best ideas, practices and knowledge of camel trekking, training and care, including India, Mongolia and South Australia.
Roma has always had a strong connection to her country’s lores and customs and a passion for sharing this culture with others. This aim, combined with a degree in teaching, has resulted in Githang’s Wonga Cultural Awareness training – “Githang” being Roma’s traditional name, and “wonga” meaning to talk or speak.
Together we bring the combined knowledge, experience and dedication to sharing this amazing part of the world with travellers wanting a unique journey that will be remembered forever. We have spent a lot of our lives in the bush and love the nomadic lifestyle of moving over country and camping in nature.
Our camel trekking tours are where adventure meets culture. Our skills in adventuring and trekking tours combine with a unique perspective of local knowledge and culture for a grassroots guided tour of Pilbara. We also have partnerships with local Western Australia tourism ventures to become part of a Pilbara experience package. Fully catered, led by experienced, laidback and passionate guides and designed to take in all the natural wonders of the region, it is an odyssey like no other.
